Entrevista del testigo

Witnesses interviewed: 2. (N°1277, 1278).
Tamara A (N°1277): “I didn’t see a lot of Jews but they were caught. If they weren’t shot here, they had to come later to be shot. As we lived near the hill, we saw the whole scene. I know they were burned at the same place.”

“On March 18, 1942, Soviet civilians were displaced from Odessa and taken to Sakharove. German settlers led by a German officer shot them from the early morning to night. The Jews had to get undressed and were shot in groups of 100-150 people. 400 people and 190 children were shot. After the execution, the dead corpses and the ones who were only injured were covered with gasoline and burned. The Jews received a bullet to the neck and were killed with machine-guns.”
